11.1 General
- Lorry cranes may only be used by qualified personnel.
- Crane operators must ensure that the equipment is in a safe
condition. - There must be sufficient light for the crane operator or the
signalman to see the load. There must always be a visual and/or
preferably a two-way communication between the crane
operator and the signalman. - The crane operator shall not perform multiple tasks to avoid
distractions from crane operations. - Mobile phones shall not be used during lift operations. Unless it
is a part of the planned communication for the lifting operation. - The crane operator shall wait for signal or see the entire load
before lifting starts. - Guidelines shall be used to control extended, heavy or difficult
lifts. - The crane operator shall not put the controller away if there is a
load in the hook. - The crane operator is responsible for ensuring that all crane
operations are performed correctly. In case of doubt, the crane
operator will refuse to lift until safe conditions are met. - Action must be taken against danger of collision when multiple
cranes are in the same working area. Measures such as sector
limitation, communication, transport directions, etc. shall be
considered. Document the actions and responsibilities in the

you have valid dispensations where required.
Hazardous situations:
- Instability. Focus on the type of road (ex bearing capacity).
- High/low voltage lines in the air and in the ground.
- Remember that plastic support plates can slide on snow.
Preferably use sand or gravel underneath.
- Road verges that cannot handle the load of larger vehicles.
- Load above people.
Instructions:
Quality control:
- Crane leg pads should always be used when lifting.
- The base for the crane leg pads must be secured in order to
avoid. - Make sure the stability is horizontal and that the crane leg pads
correctly aligned and positioned. Verify that there is pressure
on all support legs.
